Motorola is one of the most iconic mobile brands, and its journey in the industry is nothing short of a roller coaster ride. In the last few years, the Lenovo-owned smartphone company seems to have found its comfort zone, and its 2024 lineup of smartphones is a testament to the same.
According to the latest 3Q24 IDC report, Motorola is the 8th largest smartphone brand in the country with a market share of 5.7 per cent and an unprecedented 149.5 per cent year-on-year growth.
Unlike most smartphone brands, which are either focused on high-end, mid-tier, or entry-level smartphones, Motorola caters to almost everyone, and it is also the go-to brand to get an affordable foldable smartphone.
Here are five Motorola smartphones, launched in 2024, that make it one of the most versatile smartphone brands in the world:

The cutting-edge and flagship offering from Motorola, which is also one of the most premium-looking flip-style foldables in the country featuring a large 4-inch cover display. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, it is also one of the most capable flip-style foldables that offers a stock Android experience along with AI capabilities such as Gemini on the cover display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate. The Razr 50 Ultra (review) is easily one of the best-looking flip-styled foldable smartphones in the market.

This non-foldable flagship from Motorola is as special as its foldable counterpart. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, it might not be as capable as some of the other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagships like the iQOO 12 or the Xiaomi 14. However, the Edge 50 Ultra (review), with its Pantone colour finishes and premium design, stands out from the crowd, and it is also one of the fastest charging smartphones of 2024 with 120W fast charging, and its triple-camera setup with a periscope zoom lens is also on par with other flagship smartphones of this year.

Motorola is not just known for its flagship phones but also for its budget offerings, and the G45 5G is one such device. With a price tag close to Rs 10,000, it is one of the most well-rounded budget 5G smartphones in the market. It offers capabilities like a 120Hz display, vegan leather back panel, stereo speaker setup, IP52 rating, and more. This phone also has features like a 3.5mm headphone jack and a hybrid microSD card slot for additional storage expansion.

Another interesting Motorola smartphone from 2024 is the Edge 50 Fusion, a mid-range smartphone with flagship-like features including a curved 144Hz display, IP68 water and dust resistance rating, and stock Android user experience. Overall, this phone offered a lot of features that were unheard of, especially at around the Rs 22,000 price mark.

This is my favourite Motorola smartphone of this year, and I say this for several reasons. For a phone priced under Rs 30,000, the Edge 50 (review) has almost everything that one comes to expect from a flagship smartphone, including a premium metal frame, triple camera setup with a dedicated ultra-wide angle and a telephoto lens, IP68 rating for water resistance, and it also comes with a 120Hz curved display. This is also touted to be the world’s slimmest military-grade certified smartphone, which also supports wireless charging.
