Google will unveil the second generation of its smartwatch – Pixel Watch 2 today alongside the Pixel 8 series and Pixel Buds Pro. The tech giant has confirmed that the Pixel Watch 2 will be coming to India on October 5.
Just like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel Watch 2 has been leaked numerous times in the last couple of months. From design to specs to price, here’s everything we know so far about Google’s upcoming wearable.

Design
While the Pixel Watch 2 might look just like its predecessor from the front, the upcoming smartwatch features a redesigned back that packs 3 new sensors and is made from 100 per cent aluminium.
A recent report by 91mobiles suggests the wearable will be available in 4 colours – Polished Silver/Bay, Matte Black/Obsidian, Champagne Gold/Hazel and Polished Silver/Porcelain and come with 2 new bands – Metal Slim and Active Sport. Speculations suggest the smartwatch will have a 100 per cent aluminium body instead of stainless steel to cut down on weight.
It looks like the Pixel Watch 2 will borrow the thick bezels from the Pixel Watch but feature a new display from Samsung display. However, the screen and dial size remains the same at 1.2-inch and 41mm respectively.

Hardware and software upgrades
The smartwatch 2 will run on WearOS 4, which brings several new functionalities and improvements like dynamic theme support and seamless updates. Rumour has it that Google will switch from the dated Exynos to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset.
According to 9to5Google, the upcoming wearable device will come with a slightly bigger 306mAh battery, which is said to offer up to 24 hours of battery life with always-on display.

Coming to under-the-hood upgrades, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to come with Fitbit’s multi-path heart rate sensor which might be more accurate during exercise. Google also seems to be borrowing Fitbit’s stress management system which uses body response tracking to record stress levels and offers recommendations to improve mood.
Another useful feature that may find its way to the Pixel Watch 2 is the ability to automatically start and stop workouts. The tech giant is also bringing the recently introduced ‘Safety Check’ feature from Pixel devices, which is useful when going on a walk at night or strolling in an unsafe area.
Google Pixel Watch 2 price
According to the known tipster Roland Quandt, the Google Pixel Watch 2 will get a slight price bump and start from 349 GBP, which roughly translates to Rs 35,000.
