For over a decade, Samsung’s role in shaping Android flagship smartphones has been immeasurable. Each year, Samsung introduces its flagship Galaxy S series of smartphones in Q1 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The next Unpacked is just around the corner, and the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 series, including the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra, at the event.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event will be held on January 22 in San Jose, California, US. It is likely to be special as the company may finally unveil its much-awaited virtual reality headset that was teased along with the recent announcement of Google’s Android XR platform.

The Galaxy S25 series will be the main highlight of Galaxy Unpacked 2025, representing the next batch of flagship Android smartphones with top-of-the-line hardware and the latest software. According to leaks, unlike last year—when the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus were powered by the Exynos 2400 in some regions—the entire Galaxy S25 series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a speed-binned flagship chip from Qualcomm.
Similar to their predecessors, the major difference between the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Plus will be their size. The Galaxy S25 is expected to feature a compact 6.2-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, while the Galaxy S25 Plus may sport a larger 6.7-inch screen, potentially with a 2K resolution. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will remain the largest in the lineup with a 6.8-inch display.
In terms of RAM and storage, all three models are expected to offer at least 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. While the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus will also have 512 GB variants, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may come in both 512 GB and 1 TB configurations. According to an X user, the Galaxy S25 Ultra might also feature a 16 GB RAM variant, but it could be limited to Asian markets, including India.
The camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are expected to remain similar to their predecessors, featuring a 50 MP main shooter, a 10 MP telephoto lens, and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, however, is rumoured to include a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP 6x telephoto lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens, with support for up to 8K video recording.

Leaked information suggests there will be no increase in battery capacity or charging speed across the lineup. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is reported to retain a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
All three models will run Android 15-based OneUI 7. Among the three, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to include exclusive features for the S-Pen, such as a multimodal image generation capability recently teased by Samsung.
According to an X post by Tarun Vats, the Galaxy S25 is expected to start at Rs 84,999, the Galaxy S25 Plus at Rs 1,04,999, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra at Rs 1,34,999.
One more thing
Samsung might surprise us with its XR headset powered by Android XR at its Unpacked event. While it may not be officially launched, the company is likely to showcase some of its features and capabilities, potentially drawing comparisons to the Apple Vision Pro.

We do not expect new smartwatches, smart rings, or earbuds at this event, as they were unveiled just a few months ago at the previous Galaxy Unpacked.
