Garmin recently launched the Fenix 8 series smartwatches in India. Designed for adventure enthusiasts and tuned for coaches and athletes, the new multisport smartwatches are the latest in Garmin’s premium product lineup.
The Fenix 8 series smartwatches are available in two screen options, one with an AMOLED screen and the other one being the solar charging model. While the 51mm AMOLED model can last up to 29 days on a single charge, the solar charging variant packs a battery which Garmin claims lasts 48 days.
Apart from standard health tracking features like heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, blood oxygen level monitoring, and others, the Fenix 8 series smartwatches can also measure advanced metrics like endurance score, VO2 max, hill score, training status, strength training, and support dives up to 40 meters. Both models also have a built-in LED flashlight whose intensity can be controlled via the smartwatch.
Garmin Fenix 8 series starts from Rs 89,900.
The Garmin Fenix 8 series smartwatches feature an optional titanium bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire lens with all models having “leak-proof metal buttons and a new sensor guard to protect essential sensors.” Users also have the option to use the Garmin Messenger app which enables two-way text messaging from the watch itself.
The new Garmin smartwatches also come with advanced mapping and navigation features powered by Topo Active maps, which can help stay on track using dynamic round-trip routing.
While the Fenix 8 AMOLED version comes in three sizes – 43, 47mm and 51mm, the solar charging model with Always-On display functionality can be purchased in two sizes – 47mm and 51mm. Garmin Fenix 8 series smartwatches are available at premium stores and on the Garmin India website and start from Rs 86,990.
