On Monday, at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Nothing announced its latest smartphones — the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. Building on the success of its Phone (2a) series, Nothing continues to enhance the overall smartphone experience by introducing a telephoto zoom lens—a first for the brand—along with new personalised AI experiences and an improved transparent design. The Glyph lighting has been retained, while ingress protection has been upgraded to IP64.

The Phone (3a), with a starting price of Rs 24,999 for the Indian-exclusive 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, appears to be an improved version of the Phone (2a). It features a transparent back panel showcasing the Glyph Interface and a pill-shaped triple-camera setup. Meanwhile, the Pro model takes a different approach, featuring a large circular camera island that houses a periscope zoom lens with 3x optical zoom. The Phone (3a) Pro starts at Rs 29,999 and also includes an Indian-exclusive 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant with a flat Rs 2,000 bank discount on both models and will be available for purchase starting March 11.

While the Phone (3a) is equipped with a 50MP telephoto lens supporting 2x optical zoom and 4x lossless in-sensor zoom, the slightly more expensive Phone (3a) Pro features a 50MP periscope zoom lens with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless in-sensor zoom. Both models come with a 50MP primary wide-angle camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, the Phone (3a) has a 32MP front camera, whereas the Phone (3a) Pro boasts a 50MP front-facing camera, supporting 4K 30fps video recording on both the main and selfie cameras. These are also the first set of smartphones from Nothing to support eSIM.
The Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro also introduce a new feature called Essential Space, accessible via a dedicated physical key. This AI-driven hub allows users to capture thoughts through notes, screenshots, and pictures, which are automatically processed and catalogued for easy access. Currently, in early access, Phone (3a) series users will be the first to experience this feature.
Both smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, paired with at least 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. They run on Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15, and are expected to receive three major OS upgrades. A 5,000mAh battery with 50W fast charging powers both devices, though the charger is sold separately.
