On Tuesday, OnePlus confirmed that it is hosting a global launch event for the OnePlus 13 series on January 7. Dubbed the winter launch event, the company will introduce the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and possibly a few more products at the launch event. The event will be live-streamed on platforms like YouTube and will commence at 9:00 PM IST.

The OnePlus 13, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, is the latest flagship smartphone, while the OnePlus 13R, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, will be an upper mid-range smartphone for those who seek a high-performance yet pocket-friendly smartphone.
Considering that OnePlus has already rolled out the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update to several smartphones, both the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13R are likely to ship with OxygenOS 15 out of the box, with several new features and AI capabilities. Unlike their predecessors, which feature a curved screen, the OnePlus 13 will come with a 2K resolution quad-curved display, while the OnePlus 13R will offer a 1.5K resolution flat panel display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
These smartphones will also come with improved display technology, making them resilient against green line issues, and the OnePlus 13 will also offer capabilities like an IP68/69 rating for water and dust resistance. The smartphone is expected to get the maximum years of software support when compared to any other OnePlus smartphone.
Both smartphones are expected to pack a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging, while the 50W wireless charging support will be limited to the OnePlus 13.
