It’s been a while since OnePlus introduced its first foldable device—the Open—known for its robust build quality and slim profile. It seems OnePlus is set to raise the bar further with the Open 2, which could be one of the thinnest smartphones in recent times, measuring as slim as a deck of four credit cards.
OPPO has also shared an image of its next foldable smartphone, the Find N5, which is expected to launch internationally as the OnePlus Open 2. The Find N5 is reportedly just as thin as a USB-C port. In another image, the brand compares the Find N5’s thickness to the iPad Pro M4, Apple’s slimmest product to date.

While the exact dimensions of the upcoming OPPO Find N5 or the OnePlus Open 2 are yet to be confirmed, leaks suggest the device will have a thickness of approximately 4mm when unfolded and about 9mm when folded—on par with most flagship smartphones.
The OnePlus Open 2 is rumoured to feature a more compact camera module, potentially housing smaller sensors and fewer lenses. This design shift might impact camera performance compared to the original Open, which was lauded as OnePlus’s best camera smartphone at its launch. However, OPPO’s collaboration with Hasselblad is expected to deliver exceptional software tuning, ensuring the cameras perform well despite the smaller optics.
Specifications of the OnePlus Open 2 are anticipated to rival other Android flagships, featuring a 2K resolution 120Hz display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of internal storage, and Android 15-based OxygenOS 15, optimized for the foldable form factor.
2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for thin-and-light smartphones. Alongside the OnePlus Open 2, we can look forward to the recently teased Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Air.
