Redmi Note 14 Pro+ first impressions: Gradient design, big camera island, and more | Technology News

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is known for offering the best-in-class design, features, and performance. With the launch of the Redmi Note 14 series, the company is taking its most popular mid-range smartphone series to a whole new level—especially with the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, which introduces a new design, hardware capabilities, and unmatched performance within the series.

Here is an early impression of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and its design:

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a large, squircle-shaped camera island at the back that mimics some of the high-end devices. It now includes a 50MP 2.5x zoom lens apart from a 50MP wide-angle and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens. This is the first Redmi Note series smartphone to launch in India with a dedicated telephoto lens.
The Spectre Blue variant of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a dual-tone gradient design, giving this device a unique and premium look. And, what could possibly be the biggest upgrade on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is its IP68 rating, making it resilient against dust and water damage.

Depending on the variant, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ will either have a vegan leather (PU) or glass back panel, with the glass variant being five grams heavier.
On top of that, despite packing a massive 6,200 mAh battery, the biggest that we have ever seen on a Xiaomi smartphone, the device has a thickness of 8.85 mm, and this battery size is likely to ensure more than all-day battery life.

The 3D curved display on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is quite similar to its predecessor with a few improvements, where it can now reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz in the gaming mode. There is also an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, and when looked at from the front, it looks like a high-end device, capable of Dolby Vision playback. The display is covered with narrow bezels on all four sides.

Stay tuned for the full review of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ to learn about its performance, camera, capabilities, battery life, and more.
