The rumours of Apple working on a slim iPhone have been floating around for a while, and now, a similar report also comes from the South Korean smartphone giant Samsung. According to South Korea’s ET news, Samsung’s first slim flagship might arrive in the second quarter of 2025, months before the iPhone 17 Air.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is reported to debut a few months after the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to go official by January end or early February. Smartprix reports that the Galaxy S25 Slim, carrying the model number SM-S937U, recently got listed on the GSMA IMEI database.
While there are no details on the exact specifications or capabilities of the Galaxy S25 Slim, it is most likely to be the thinnest and lightest flagship smartphone that Samsung has released in recent years. Again, the emphasis will be on its design without compromising on the functionality.
In terms of positioning, the Galaxy S25 Slim is likely to sit between the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+, offering a mid-ground between the two, and is also expected to cost a bit more than the Galaxy S25. Considering the possible launch timeline, it is expected to be powered by either the Exynos 2500 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which was recently unveiled at the Qualcomm summit.
In 2025, more and more smartphone brands are targeting the slim aspect, which includes the upcoming Oppo Find X8 Pro, a flagship smartphone that measures just 8.34mm (thickness), making it one of the slimmest flagship smartphones of this year.
